Participants gain hands-on experience and build technical skills in cutting-edge computing fields, guided by Drexel CCI faculty and student leaders, with a focus on collaborative project development.
The Drexel University Digital Development Camp, VirtuaQuest, is a four-week in-person summer program led by the College of Computing & Informatics (CCI). Participants gain hands-on experience in virtual reality, artificial intelligence, programming, and game development. The camp focuses on building technical skills and exploring future computing paths through workshops, lectures by CCI faculty, and team-based projects. Campers apply their learned skills to bring their visions to life, culminating in a virtual showcase where they demonstrate their work. The program also includes informational sessions about CCI and Drexel University, offering networking opportunities with faculty, staff, and student leaders.
Each day, campers attend a variety of workshops and a lecture given by a CCI faculty member on topics such as gaming, AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, and data science. In the afternoon, they work in teams on projects, applying the skills they've learned.
The camp is ideal for rising high school sophomores, juniors, seniors, and accepted CCI first-year students interested in computer science, software engineering, cybersecurity, data science, human-computer interaction, and programming.
